Tomahawk 0.3 Beta... just in time for Music Hackday

05 Nov

We realize we've been somewhat quiet lately, but that's only because we've let Tomahawk v0.2.3 do the talking for us while we've been hard at work on it's succecessor. Luckily, folks have started to hear what it's saying and are responding in kind. Including some of our favorites:

"Tomahawk is different. It’s an open source, cross-platform, socially aware music player that quite simply, is awesome." - Mashable

"It’s time to listen to music in a new way that might just blow your mind." - Evolver.fm

"... an amazing media player that aggregates music from almost anywhere." - ownCloud

For those of you that speak German, here are a couple for you (translations courtesy of Google Translate):

"...the most innovative thing I've seen in ages." - Neumusik.com

"Tomahawk on the other hand delivers, fascinates and overwhelms." - Max Zelass

Tomahawk v0.2.3 was a good ship that served us well, but it's time to make way for a new ship... and I dare say we packed more goodness into this release than we had even planned. The team of Tomahawk contributors continues to increase, which in turn increases not only the productivity but also the ideas. It really is an awesome part of being an open-source project.

As you can see from our new tutorial video, and the release notes below, it's been a busy 2 months - and we think we've turning the corner on becoming really usable and accessible for the average music lover (hello 1-click install content resolvers!).
